Rarotonga Restaurants

Eating out is not particularly cheap in Rarotonga as much produce needs to be imported. Larger resort properties offer their own on-site restaurants and bars, and island nights feature the traditional island feast (umu kai) is a highlight to be enjoyed during your holiday in Cook Islands.

Fish and seafood feature strongly in all restaurants and cafes. Some independent restaurants are shown below.

This famous eating place in the capital town of Avarau serves a varied menu, including mai mai (dolphin fish), which is a delicacy in Rarotonga. Avarua also has a number of western-style lunch and coffee house establishments, at which to satisfy your caffeine habit!
